SKATEISTAN
Skateistan is Afghanistan’s first dedicated co-educational skateboarding school. The school will engage with the growing numbers of urbanised youth in Afghanistan through skateboarding and provide new opportunities in cross-cultural interaction and education. Students will be selected from a range of different cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. Student capacity will be developed in skateboarding, skateboarding instruction, project management, life skills and English. Our aim is to develop a program that empowers youth to take leadership on issues important to them and build networks that will counter current ethnic barriers

The Danish 49'er sailingcrew have won the gold medal at the 2008 Olympic 49'er Sailing Competition.
The Danish crew broke their mast shortly before the Medal Race, but returned to the marina, borrowed a boat from the Croatian team (who had not qualified for the Medal Race) and went on to finish seventh in the race to win the gold medal.
That was a sportmanship on a high level!!

Roskilde Festival 2008 - yet another great festival :-)
As always a lot of great music .... and to little time to see it all.
The program included among others: Orishas, Mgmt, Lupe Fiasco, Lady Saw, Gnarls Barkley, Santogold, Cocorosie, Osaka Invasion, Alberta In Love, La Kinky Beat, Dj Wagner Pá, Ricoloop, The Count and Sinden, The Ting Tings, Queen Ifrica, Cadence Weapon, Swollen Members, Frédéric Galliano Kuduro Sound System, Albertslund Terror Korps, Girl Talk, Shantel and Bucovina Club Orkestar, Magnetic Man Feat. Skream and Benga, Sharon Jones and The Dap-Kings, Lulu Rouge, Culcha Candela, Hot Chip, Jay-Z and Digitalism.
This festival is much more than music - it a feeling ....
Imagine that 25.000 people are working voluntary to make the festival happen - all my respect to them!!!
By the way .... It was my Roskilde festival no. 22 - and I'm going next year again :-)

Allow me to make a statement about the cartoon caricatures of the Prophet Mohammed. I'm very sad because of the Prophet drawings that were printed in a Danish newspaper. I’m a strong believer of freedom of expression, but I think it’s wrong when the newspaper claims that it was in the cause of freedom of expression. If it was in a matter of freedom of expression the newspaper could have chosen any other theme - there was and is no reason to offend the Muslim world - where drawings of the Prophet is forbidden. In a way it shows that in a part of the Danish society there is no tolerance and respect for other cultures and religions. I hope that a proper excuse is soon to come
